Play pass with street chalk

When the street becomes a creative playground

When was the last time you held a piece of chalk in your hand? Probably at school, perhaps in math lessons where you had to scribble formulas and solutions on the blackboard. In addition to writing on blackboards, the colored chalks are also used in other ways. Even asphalted roads become a creative zone for chalk enthusiasts in spring.

Some game ideas
In addition to colorful works of art that adorn the streets, there are also numerous games that can be played with sidewalk chalk. You can read a few ideas in this article.

Heaven and hell
In this classic chalk game, you draw a playing field with the numbers 1 to 10 on the ground. Player 1 throws a stone into the first number field. He can then hop over the entire playing field with one leg, but without touching the number field in which the stone is located. When the player reaches the number field 10, he turns around and hops back to the beginning. The next step is to throw the stone into the next number field, field 2. The same player then hops through the entire playing field again, with the exception of field 2, and so on. There is a change of player as soon as a player either does not hit the stone in the correct number field or touches a line with their foot.

Target shooting
The first step is to draw a target on the floor. Preferably in the form of several circles. Then the first player starts to throw a stone at the target. If he hits the center, he can throw again. Otherwise it is the next player's turn. As soon as everyone has had a turn, the game starts again from the beginning. Bonus points are awarded if another player's stone is hit.

King's ball
In this game, the first thing you do is draw four squares of the same size on the floor. You will also need a ball. Write "King" in one of the squares. Then one player stands in each of the 4 squares. Each player receives ten lives at the start. The player standing in the "King" square begins to pass the ball to another player by bouncing it once on the ground. How you pass the ball, whether with your hands, feet or head, is entirely up to you. The player who is played to must let the ball bounce once in his field before throwing it to the next player. The game continues in this way until either:

  • The ball is touched by a player without first bouncing in his own court.
  • The ball is passed to another player only after it has bounced more than once.
  • The player continues to throw the ball at the right time, but does not hit any of the other fields.

As a result, the player loses one life each time. If a player has lost all ten lives, they are eliminated from the game. The others continue to play until there is only one person left, the winner.

Test your creativity, skill or accuracy with these versatile sidewalk chalk games. Have fun.
