Short but sweet - micro-breaks help you to experience everyday life in a more relaxed way.

A "normal" family or work day is pretty packed. Mountains of paperwork, transporting children, shopping, telephones, meetings and lots of unforeseen things. Demands that are stressful and can make you tired.

Full throttle - yes, but ...

Good time management and work organization, shopping lists and so on can be good tools for getting through a mountain of pending tasks quickly. But always going full throttle is grueling and burns us out.

Breaks are good for you

Just take a deep breath, clear your head and feel the ground beneath your feet. Micro-breaks are the magic word. Slow down your system for half a minute or two several times a day, chill out a little and relax. This promotes your well-being and therefore also your productivity.

Here's how

  • Open the window for a moment, let your gaze wander over the horizon and take a deep breath. As you breathe in, think of the scent of your favorite flower. Lilac, rose, lavender or lily of the valley ...
  • When you wash your hands after the toilet, look in the mirror and take half a minute to make a proper fax.
  • Leave two juggling balls in the kitchen or in the break room. While you wait for the tea water to boil, wedge the balls between the wall and your back and give yourself a short back massage.
  • Brush your teeth for three minutes, stand on one leg during this time to train your balance and let your mind wander back to your feet.
  • Can't find a parking space in the immediate vicinity? Never mind! Take the opportunity to really stretch out or cover the distance with a brisk walk.

You can incorporate micro-breaks into your daily routine several times. The main thing is that you do it regularly.
