Vegan kebab

Where can you get that?

The reasons for a vegan diet can be many and varied. Love of animals, culture, health awareness, a desire for something new and much more.

One thing is clear: vegan food culture is booming! In health food stores, organic food stores and also in conventional grocery stores , more and more vegan products offered.

The city of Winterthur is currently on its way to becoming a "vegan city". You can find some interesting offers and vegan delicacies here.

  • A new trend that is now making its way to us from Berlin is the vegan kebab. A hot tip for trying a vegan kebab is the "TurkishDelight" store at Obertor in Winterthur. The secret behind it is the meat substitute seitan. The wheat protein has so far mainly been used in Asian cuisine. For the vegan kebab, the seitan is seasoned with a racy mixture of spices and cooked in steam. This gives it a meat-like taste. The remaining ingredients such as red cabbage and soy yoghurt-herb sauce round off the meatless kebab.
  • You will find the Tofulino vegan shop on Holderplatz. Here you can get advice and inspiration on a wide range of vegan products. You can even buy vegan bread and patisserie here, which is specially made by a bakery that bakes vegan products.
  • From Monday to Thursday, a vegan mobile is parked on Steinberggasse. You can enjoy vegan take-away treats there. The offer ranges from strudels to schnitzel sandwiches and pasta dishes to vegetable cakes.
  • Not for eating, but still interesting are the products of the "Soap Opera". Here you will find vegan cosmetics, soaps, bath bubbles and much more.
