What you need: white FIMO, FIMO gloss varnish, acrylic paints: Basic colors red, blue and yellow, as well as black + white, superglue, jewelry parts: Chain pins, fine rings, ear hooks from the craft store and the following tools: brushes and pliers.
Step 1 Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 110 degrees Celsius.
Step 2 Shape and bake the mushroom: Whether you are making your favorite mushroom or a mushroom of your imagination, it helps if you shape the mushroom hat and the stem separately and then put the two mushroom parts together. To attach the stem to the hat, you can make fine cross cuts at the ends of both parts. Now bring the stem and the hat together and smooth out the groove where the stem meets the hat. Now shape the second mushroom. If you want your mushroom cap to have lamellae on the inside, you can cut these finely with the knife. Insert the chain pin into the center of the mushroom cap of the finished mushrooms so that you can attach the ear hook later. Bake both mushrooms with the chain pins inserted for 30 minutes at 110 degrees Celsius.
Step 3 Paint the mushrooms: Paint the baked mushrooms with the acrylic paints of your choice. In order to paint the mushrooms in every spot, you can hold the mushrooms firmly by the chain pins. Leave the painted mushrooms to dry for about 15 minutes.
Step 4 Fix the chain pins: Unscrew the chain pins. This is best done with pliers and twisting movements. Use the pliers to cut the chain pins to the desired length so that later only the ring of the chain pin will protrude from the top of the mushroom cap. Apply a small dab of superglue to the tip of the chain pin and insert the chain pin into the prepared hole in the mushroom cap as far as it will go.
Step 5 Varnish the mushrooms with gloss varnish and attach them to the ear hook: Now varnish your mushrooms and leave them to dry for 20 minutes. You can connect the mushroom to the ear hook using the fine ring. To do this, bend the fine ring apart a little with the pliers and thread it into the ring of the chain pin and the ring of the ear hook. Bend the connecting ring back into its original shape. Your mushroom earrings are now finished and ready to wear.
