Toast the new year with unusual drinks!

It was once customary to set off firecrackers and fireworks on New Year's Eve to drive away evil spirits. Today it is a tradition to bring the end of the year to a close and welcome in the New Year.

It doesn't matter whether you're out with friends or at home with relatives and acquaintances to ring in the New Year. Fine drinks are a must in any case. familleSuisse presents some delicious recipes:

Drinks with alcohol

Berry magic for 4 glasses of 1.5 dl each

Boil 0.5 dl water, 1 tsp lemon juice, 1 tbsp sugar and the scraped out seeds of a ½ vanilla pod together. When the liquid has cooled slightly, add 80 g frozen berries to taste and leave to infuse for 20 minutes. Divide the berry mixture with the juice between 4 nice glasses. Pour 1dl of Prosecco and a few drops of cassis syrup into each glass. Serve the drink immediately.

Pink and sour for 4 glasses of 1dl each

Rinse a grapefruit in hot water. Peel off a few strips of peel with a peeler and set aside for decoration. Squeeze the grapefruit. Mix the juice with 4 tbsp Grand Marnier and ½ tbsp cane sugar. Divide between four glasses. Add 2 ice cubes to each glass and garnish the drink with the grapefruit peel set aside.

Drinks without alcohol

Litchi prickler for 4 glasses of 2.5 dl each

Put some grenadine syrup on one plate and some sugar on another. Dip the rims of four glasses first in the syrup and then in the sugar so that the rim is decorated all around.

Pour 1 tablespoon of grenadine syrup into each glass. Mix 6 dl iced tea, 4 dl Rimuss Litchi and carefully divide between the glasses. Skewer 3 lychees each onto a wooden skewer 4 times and place in the glass as decoration.

Try the drink with different types of ice tea or rimuss. This way you can conjure up a variety of creations.

Special punch for 1.2 liters

Cut a mango into 3 mm wide slices and 1 pitahaya into 5 mm thick slices. Cut out 8 shapes of your choice from each fruit for the garnish. You can use small Milanese cutters, for example. Cover and place in the fridge.

Cut the rest of the fruit and 5 peeled lychees into small cubes. Mix them with 40 g cane sugar and ½ bunch of finely chopped peppermint. Place this mixture in the fridge for 1 hour.

Add 10 ice cubes, 4 dl sparkling mineral water and 5 dl rimus. Divide the fine punch into glasses and decorate the rims with the prepared fruit shapes.

The following applies to all drinks:

Use beautiful cocktail or martini glasses. They give your drinks a sophisticated look. These glasses are also suitable for beautiful desserts.

Decorate the rim of the glass by first dipping the opening in lemon juice, water or syrup and then in sugar. Depending on the syrup, you can give your drink a brightly colored decoration.

Serve the glasses with colorful umbrellas, long cocktail skewers or a straw

If you are serving a drink with fruit, make sure that you provide espresso spoons, coffee spoons, dessert spoons, dessert forks, wooden or plastic skewers, depending on the size and depth of the glasses. This makes it easier to enjoy the fruit if it gets stuck in the glass.
