Warming apple and cinnamon oat cookies - healthy snacks for the family

Apple and cinnamon oat cookies are easy to prepare and are ideal for baking with children. The combination of sweet fruit, spicy cinnamon and nutritious oats makes them a popular companion for snack or afternoon tea.

To make the dough, oat flakes are mixed with flour, grated apple, cinnamon and a little honey or maple syrup. The result is a natural and wholesome treat without a lot of sugar. If you like, add a few raisins or nuts for extra bite.

The cookies are easy to portion and bake quickly in the oven until crispy. Even while they are baking, the whole house smells of fall and coziness. They taste particularly good warm - preferably with a glass of milk or a cup of tea.

Ingredients:

  • 150 g rolled oats
  • 100 g flour (white flour or spelt flour)
  • 1 apple (grated)
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp honey or maple syrup
  • 50 ml vegetable oil (e.g. rapeseed oil)
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • A pinch of salt
  • Optional: 50 g raisins or chopped nuts

Preparation:

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees top/bottom heat.
  2. Mix the rolled oats, flour, baking powder, cinnamon and salt in a bowl.
  3. Grate the apple and add together with the honey, oil and optional ingredients. Mix everything well until a sticky dough forms.
  4. Using two spoons, place small heaps on a baking tray lined with baking paper and flatten slightly.
  5. Bake for about 12-15 minutes until the edges are golden brown.
  6. Leave to cool and enjoy!


If you love the taste of cinnamon, sprinkle some extra cinnamon on the cookies before baking. This makes the taste particularly intense. The cookies also taste delicious cold and keep well in an airtight tin.
