Cauliflower originally comes from the Mediterranean region. People probably first cultivated it in the region that is now Italy. From there, the cultivation of cauliflower spread throughout Europe over the centuries and later worldwide. Today, cauliflower is a popular vegetable in many cuisines around the world. Cauliflower can be prepared as a vegetable, but can also be an excellent low-carb alternative to rice.

Preparation
- Prepare the cauliflower: Remove the leaves and stalk from the cauliflower. Cut it into smaller florets.
- Chop: Use a food processor to chop the cauliflower florets into rice-sized pieces. Alternatively, you can also use a grater.
- Cooking: Heat some oil in a frying pan. Add the chopped cauliflower and fry over a medium heat for about five to seven minutes until soft. Season to taste.
- Serve: Use the cauliflower rice as a side dish or as a base for dishes such as fried rice or curry.
