Paper garlands add a cheerful touch to your home. You can easily make them with paper and a sewing machine.
Paper garlands come in all shapes and colors. You can easily make your own garland with your child. First decide on a motif. This could be a heart, a star, a circle or even a butterfly. It is easiest if you have a paper cutter with this motif. For example, you can punch out lots of hearts together with your child. Or you can make a template out of cardboard and then cut around 20-25 of your motif out of paper by hand.
In a second step, choose a thread that matches the paper. Now you can use the sewing machine to sew the individual hearts, stars or butterflies together one after the other to form a garland. Leave some space between the individual paper shapes so that the motifs fall loosely on the garland.
You can create particularly beautiful garlands by mixing motifs. For example, a heart can be followed by a star or a larger or smaller circle. The colorful garlands also make wonderful gifts. They add a certain lightness to any room when hung on a window or next to a door!
