Sweet potato burgers are a healthy, everyday meal that is both filling and delicious. The natural sweetness of the sweet potato harmonizes wonderfully with the creamy avocado, while fresh herbs and a hint of lemon add lightness. These burgers are perfect for a cozy dinner as well as a weekend dish that is a joy to prepare.
For this recipe, you need simple ingredients that are easy to prepare. If your children like to help, they can help shape the burgers or mix the cream. The vibrant color of the sweet potatoes is particularly beautiful and gives the dish a cheerful touch.
Ingredients for the burgers for four people:
- 2 medium-sized sweet potatoes
- 100 grams of rolled oats
- 1 egg
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- 2 tablespoons chopped parsley
- A little oil for frying
Ingredients for the avocado cream:
- 1 ripe avocado
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons natural yoghurt
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- A little pepper
- Fresh herbs if desired
Preparation:
- Prepare the burger base: Peel the sweet potatoes, cut them into chunks and cook until soft. Then mash the sweet potatoes with a fork.
- Mix the mixture: Add the oat flakes, egg, salt, paprika and parsley and mix everything thoroughly. Leave the mixture to rest briefly so that the oats can swell.
- Shape and fry the burgers: Form four patties of the same size and fry them in a little oil until golden brown on both sides.
- Make the avocado cream: Cut the avocado in half, scoop out the flesh and mash it. Mix it with lemon juice, yoghurt, salt, pepper and fresh herbs.
- Serve: Serve the burgers in a bun or on a bed of lettuce and top with plenty of avocado cream.
We hope you enjoy preparing them!
